The Mage's Daughter

This tale was originally going to be set in the SRU universe (thanks and kudos to Bill Hart), but has taken on a life (and universe) of its own. The action starts in London - a place where wizards are, perhaps, a little more genteel, traditional and restrained in their excesses. They are also more like the Merlin-style of wizard - long lived and as rare as hen’s teeth.

If you want to add to this thread, the only things I ask (as usual) are:

a)	Don't do anything permanent to any of my characters.
b)	Try to keep the geography right.
c)	Please remember that this is a MORAL society that I, sorry, that they live in, so gratuitous or underage sex is out; marriage is in, as is poetic justice for those who cross those morals. (Yeah, THAT’s where the fun is at!)
d)	Illusions are easier than Transformations, which are easier than other magic.
e)	You WILL receive your threefold return. Trust me on this.
f)	I reserve the right to transform other authors whose work (dis)pleases me. If you want to send me up, too, that's fine - I’m a good sport. BUT please see (e) above.
g)	Don't expect to find deMerel's in Castle Street - We have moved since I wrote chapter one.

Rick Trenchard, a successful businessman strikes up an unlikely friendship with the mysterious Melthalian deMerel. When Rick reveals his heart's desire, the mage is more than willing to assist.
 

Part 2 - Back to School

Alysson de Merel returns to school, and finds that studying is easier than first time around.
 

Part 3 - Curriculum Change

Events take a turn toward the unexpected when Alysson's classmates begin to exhibit magical abilities.
